Minutes of Branch meeting held
at Stone Police Club 8pm Thursday 13th February
2003.
Present

Minutes
of Previous Meeting were read and approved, Proposed by Eric Salt Seconded by
Peter Baker.
Matters
Arising
The Chairman informed the meeting that he had not yet received all the information regarding the Rudesheim trip, but did state that it would take place between 2nd and 7th July 2003, and that we would be stopping in
Belgium for one night,
staying three nights in Germany, and one night in France on returning.
Recruitment
Bob
Smith the Regional Chairman Thanked the Chairman for inviting him to the
meeting. He went on to say that he had 10 branches to look after and that it
was his duty to concentrate on the ‘worry’ branches, he has had a great deal of
work to do with some of the branches but Staffordshire is not one of them. Bob
stated that he had given some thought to how we could improve our recruiting,
and handed out a list of ideas to the meeting, please see attached, the most
important one was to set up a recruitment committee.
The
Chairman thanked Bob for attending and informed the meeting that we would
discuss his proposals at a later date.
Monthly
Draw
Peter
Corbishley reported that be had received only 10 entries into the draw, Could
all members wishing to enter do so as soon as possible.
Any Other Business
The
Chairman thanked Margaret Butters and Nell Salt for providing the Buffet.
Frank Hawley informed the meeting that he had booked the Birdman for the 13 November 2003 at a cost of £30 plus mileage from Uttoxeter. The total cost would be approx £45.
The
Chairman stated that the arrangements for the Christmas Dinner would be
deferred until the next meeting.
John
and Joan Newby send their regards.
Date of
next meeting 13th March 2003
it will be a Bingo Night.
The
Chairman informed the meeting that a group from Peterborough would be visiting
the
Staffordshire
branch on the 27’ September 2003 further details to follow.
The
social secretary Brian Tunney informed the meeting that he was looking for
support on the social committee, Alan Hancox and Nobby Clarke agreed to support
him.
The meeting closed at 9.30pm.
